can a tear in left groin or medial or inner thigh from being put in a lithotomy position cause nerve symptoms such as burning & numbness in pelvic and inner thighs especially when sitting in a normal position? also weakness in hip flexor. tightness?

Accepted Answer

: It is highly unlikely. This can occur occasionally  in an exaggerated lithotomy for a prolonged period of time under anesthesia. Best is to ask your surgeon about the details and cause

discomfort left pelvis area up along inside of ribs. feels full or tight. lower back discomfort. tingling above knee/bottom of big toe. if i lay butterfly position legs, pain between leg and pelvis. joint? all on left side. what could cause this?

Neurologist: Low back discomfort combined with tingling in one leg and foot raises suspicion of nerve root impingement by a bulging disc or spur in a lower spine vertebra but pelvis and rib involvement would not be explainable by that disc or spur. I would start with an examination by a neurologist. Appropriate testing will be done. You may then be referred to an orthopedic specialist if deemed advisable.

problem in muscles around hips(esp right side) buttock and outer thigh.feel tightness&stretch all the time(no pain). cannot sit or drive for long as i feel weak in buttocks.when i do yoga,i feel nice but after sometime, its back to being tight/weak?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If you are overweight losing weight would help (easier said than done). You may wish to add some aerobic exercise in addition to yoga.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

does a herniation cause you not to be able to sit at all or lay on your back . burning pain and pain in other parts like hips, groin, sensitive thighs?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: It does sound like you might be very sensitive and/or that it might be a major tear. Seek advice from your Dr re possible corrective surgery and perhaps a good PT program once the healing can tolerate strengthening. Try to be patient. Try to find cold/heat/support solutions to pain to avoid opioid risks - but some safe pain meds might help.

can a small ovarian cyst cause a twisting tight pain from where my ovary sits to my groin and to my hip?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Most ovarian cysts are benign and resolve on their own. They can become twisted which is caused an ovarian torsion. This requires surgical intervention. Signs and symptoms are very severe pain, nausea and vomiting.

waiting over a month to see orthopedic doc- is the pain in groin/hip  andanterior thigh likely iliopsoas tear? can't sit or drive, layin down all day!

Hard to say: If you sustained an injury, then yes, soft tissue damage is likely, involving ligaments or tendons. If this came about without injury, then there could be a space-occupying lesion. See your primary care physician for further evaluation, awaiting the ortho consult. An MRI may be warranted.

See a doctor.: I am not sure what your question really is. You need to be evaluated by a physician. It may very well be hip pain but that would not explain the urinary symptoms.

Unrelated to surgery: While your symptoms do not sound related to inguinal hernia surgery, you should consider seeing your primary care physician for these new problems, or even visit your surgeon for a quick exam and reassurance.

what causes a tight feeling in upper thigh, and groin area?

Unknown: A mass in the groin could be a hernia. Could be muscle strain. We would need more information to be helpful. Is one thigh bigger than the other? Does it hurt anywhere. How long has it been going on. If it gets worse or you start to have bad groin pain you should see a doctor immediately.

is it normal for my hip to feel tight after a thigh injury?

Accepted Answer

It depends.: After a joint injury the joint will tend to stiffen up during the inital healing phase while its relatively immobile.  This is more common in shoulders and elbows.  In the hip, some stiffness is expected, but it should resolve by 2-3 months.  Try stretching exercises or yoga.  If it fails to improve, it should probably be evaluated by a trained professional and may need a little rehab.
