Chest xray: I would recommend a chest xray if not done the addition of a long acting bronchodilator of the cholinergic class especially if you are using your ventolin correctly at least 4 times daily.  Occasionally nebulized albuterol is more effective in acute cases.

See a doctor: If you are having chest tightness with airway that feels swollen, you need to see a doctor.  You might be experiencing wheezing and bronchospasm that may require medication.

Viral lower resp.inf: Although what started out as an upper respiratory tract viral infection, now appears to have migrated downward into the lower respiratory tract causing bronchitis or even pneumonia.  Strongly suggest you consult your physician for diagnosis and treatment.

hello, i had a wheezy productive cough for about 7 weeks, so i recently took a course of antibiotics to try and shift it. i felt a lot better for about a week, but now ive noticed that my cough and chest tightness is coming back. should i see my dr?

: It is advisable to follow-up. Avoid smoke and allergic triggers such as dust and mold. After a respiratory illness, wheezing may occur and there are inhaled medications available.  If more severe, a short course of oral steroids is often effective. Watch for signs of sputum, fever and worsening cough.

i had covid in july. since then my chest gets tight randomly without any obvious trigger. this is often accompanied by a slightly productive cough. i don't know if i need to get it checked or not. i'm worried with the second wave?

Generally normal: It may take a few weeks for the cilia (lung hair cells) and edema (swelling) to subside.  Over the counter cough suppressants may help.  Increase water intake.  If cough persists more than a few weeks or mucus becomes discolored it&#x27;s time to see your physician.

Multiple causes: This can be due to a post nasal drip pooling the secretions in the throat that you cough out. Since yo don't mention feeling ill or having fevers.  Its likely secondary to the season change and allergy

Infection?: Pneumonia?  If your symptoms are severe see a doctor. Rest fluids, panadol and ibuprofen may help.  If you smoke this would be a good time to quit.  Over the counter cough preparations may help but would pick the cheapest one.
