Not HPV: Repeat question, same reply. HPV doesn't cause urethritis, period. Believe it. "Pain or tickle" at tip of penis, with negative urine test, usually means a prostate problem -- pain referred from the prostate. Or chronic pelvic pain syndrome, the newer term for some cases of nonbacterial prostatitis. Google CPPS (spell it out); the Wikipedia article is pretty good. Then see a urologist. Forget HPV.

Watch and wait: From what you described you may wish to watch and wait. If the symptoms do not improve in three weeks, it would require an examination to provide a meaningful opinion. You are still at an age where HPV vaccination is recommended.

Your symptoms are commonly described in conditions like urethritis, however it is difficult if not impossible to say whether this is from HPV or not because penile HPV testing (both via urine test and cell swab for cytology) is unreliable in men. Hope this helps.

Get recultured: and abstain sexually for a minimum of 7-10 days. This sounds like an incimpletely treated infection. I suggest having yourself and your sexual partner(s) tested for all STDs.

Please Clarify: In my practice a 'tickling' penis would represent gonorrhea or chlamydia.  If this is the case then you must protect your partner by wearing a condom throughout the sexual experience with a condom. And, you need testing and possible treatment for this infection.

Could be STD: Std testing is in order, though if negative your primary care provider will look for non-std causes.
