Non stimulants: Stratterra and Intuniv are the two non-stimulants. Of the two Intuniv is the less likely to cause tics.

Also consider seeing a homeopathic doctor as those meds are not pharmaceutical! check out nativeremedies.Com- bright spark. It works well for some and not others and if it doesn't work well that means you need a better history and a homeopathic doctor will be able to do that.

Hyperthyroid: Hopefully, it means that the medication is controlling the overactive thyroid.  Follow closely with your physician for blood tests to make sure that it doesn't go too far the other direction and you end up with an underactive thyroid.

i am prescribed adderall xr 15mg for adhd and take it every morning. lately i have felt a tight burning sensation on the right side of chest and neck. its very frustrating because it does help my symptoms significantly. any idea why this could be?

Good idea!: It's a good idea, if circumstances allow. In any case, Discuss it fully w/ your Dr(s). The risks are increased for the baby, but are still not 100% to occur and it could be that the alternative distress is as bad an option. Your case is unique - discuss it well. Some basics: Tics can be transient or chronic. Some cite a prior infection with a virus or other agent in the preceding weeks leading up to the process. When they fade within 6 mo they are considered transient, over 6 mo, chronic. There is some where a familial component is seen. ADHD meds were thought to let them emerge early but that would have been evident long ago.Your doc can help sort this out.

Usually not: Usually, a person with hyperthyroidism has too much thyroid hormone in her body. One would take Synthroid (thyroxine) (synthetic hormone) to make up for a lack of enough thyroid hormone due to HYPOthyroidism. A person with HYPOthyroidism who becomes hyperthyroid due to taking too high of a dose of Synthroid (thyroxine) might be asked to take Synthroid (thyroxine) (at a lower dose) even though she is temporarily hyperthyroid.

PTU (propylthiouracil) and liver : Drugs like ptu (propylthiouracil) and Methimazole can cause liver toxicity but hyperthyroidism can also cause elevation int the liver enzyme test you had done. If your still early in your treatment and your thyroid hormone levels (free t4) is still high it could be that. Hope this helps.

Yes: thyroid dysfunction can affect you menstrual cycle. If you havent been checked, it is an easy blood test.

Hashimoto's symptoms: Some common symptoms are: fatigue, hair loss, hoarse voice, slower speech, depressed, brittle nails, dry skin, feeling cold, constipation, weight gain...

i have been dxd with subclinical hypo thyroidism.  i am very tired.. how is this treated?

Same as: Clinical hypothyroidism. With synthroid (thyroxine) but instead of titrating your dose based on symptoms and TSH & ft4 level we would just monitor symptoms.
