URI: Your symptoms most commonly are suggestive of a viral upper respiratory tract infection.  A common cause of these symptoms in your age group is infectious mononucleosis, which normally resolves with supportive treatment.  See a doctor in person if your symptoms persist or worsen.

If the pathology is not diagnostic you need a RADICAL LYMPH DISSECTION TO R/O LYMPHOMA VS METASTATIC PROCESS. SEEK PROMPT EVALUATION FROM YOUR INTERNIST AND A GENERAL SURGEON OR ENT Second opinion may be warranted

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc.  When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Yes: It could irritate the lymph nodes in your neck causing swelling.  more concerning is why was someone choking you?  This should be reported as an assault.  Please do not let someone get away with hurting you.  No one has the right to do that EVER.  Please be sure you are safe.  Avoid contact with anyone who would do that to you.  If you are/feel unsafe call for help, contact local police.

Maybe not: Swollen glands, especially in the anterior triangle of the neck in the region of the jugular vein are considered indicative of some sort of pathology, usually not arising from eczema.  If they are firm and have increased in number and extending to the posterior triangle of the neck, biopsy should be performed.

i am a 55 year old male . i have what appears to be a lump under my armpit . gp checked for swollen glands in neck and armpit and saw no swelling . ?

Confusing: If your GP was not able to palpate a lump, then is it gone??  Did you try and show him/her where it was located?? Anyway, chances are it is a reactive lymph node which should go away within a week.  Suggest seeing your GP again if it is still there after 2 weeks

hard painful lump on scalp about an inch above right temple area near hairline. i have only noticed it yesterday and also have swollen glands in my neck and a pretty nasty cold or flu?

: You might have an infection with abscess which is different from the flu symptoms. Pl see your MD to see if it needs to be grained
