: Thyroid disease would definitely be in the differential among other conditions. Start with seeing your primary care doc, establish with one if not established. Depending on exam and detailed history, tests will be ordered that will help substantiate a diagnosis.

Sore thyroid: Are you sure it is the thyroid that is sore and swollen? If so, it could be subacute thyroiditis, which is thyroid inflammation, which often resolves by itself (there could be transient changes in thyroid blood levels). Autoimmune thyroid disease (eg. Hashimotos) can sometimes do this. Either of these usually involves the whole thyroid, not just one side. See your doctor.

12.5mg i ingestion caused immediate thyroid soreness, still felt now, days later (se also taken).  preceding thy panel showed normal fxn.  why sore?

Mild thyroiditis: If you were mildly iodine deficient prior to taking the iodine, you may have a little swelling from uptake, resulting in some stretch of the thyroid capsule, or it may be unrelated.  If it persists, see your physician.

hi! i was diagnosed with hashimotos disease. i suddenly woke up with a slightly sore & inflammed left thyroid. the other side is normal. what do i do?

Hematoma?: Could be bleeding into the biopsied nodule or other areas. Infection is also possible if the biopsy was very recent. Check w/your doctor soon.

Not likely: Description is fairly vague, but probably not related to thyroidectomy.  Sounds like possibly an infected cyst/abscess.  This could cause some local lymph node swelling and soreness.   Have evaluated in person to verify diagnosis and determine best way to treat.

2011 u/s thyroid diffusely heterogeneous multinodular thyroid. last week gland swollen/tender.  new u/s diffusely n moderately inhomogeneous. why sore?

Likely Thyroiditis: A heterogeneous  (or inhomogeneous) thyroid echotexture is usually from thyroiditis (Either Hashimoto's or Silent/Viral).  Inflammation of the thyroid (Thyroiditis) can cause pain.

please tell me, could a thyroid pill make the throat sore?

No: Neither thyroid hormone (for hypothyroidism ) nor Methimazole or ptu (propylthiouracil) (for hyperthyroidism) cause a sore throat, although ptu (propylthiouracil) and Methimazole can lower the white blood cell count which can increase the risk if infection.
