Ans: Well more history is needed here. You could have eaten something contaminated?  Hard to say for symptoms are to vague. But not unusual to disrupt the capillaries when there is a great pressure.

Maybe tension ache?: A common cause of this symptom is tension in the posterior neck muscles due to using a computer monitor or placing the head in an uncomfortable position for too long.  Is it worse when you move the head, or when someone touches the muscles?  If there has been no injury, it may not be due to the deeper structures, like the intervertebral discs.  Hard to tell based on this amount of information.

hi there. probably nothing but my head feels uncomfortably heavy, like there is pressure coming from all angles, and neck is straining (no sharp pains or anything). minor ache all over. could be stress or lack of sleep (have done symptom checker) ?

Headache: These are usually symptoms of muscle contraction headache. The muscles that support your head and neck tighten and then begin to spasm. It can start due to fatigue, stress, strain and even an early viral infection (minor aches all over). Helps to rest your head, apply ice to the back of your head for 20 min(relieves the spasm), then remove, use tylenol. If it worsens,you will need to see a doctor

will laryngocele always show on flexible fiberoptic laryngoscope or is ct needed? ultrasound failed to show what doctor suspects is laryngocele. symptom bulge in right lower neck when straining feels like jugular and constant feel of something there?

: Laryngocele can be diagnosed by laryngoscopy which often demonstrate a smooth dilation at the level of the false cord, involving both the false cord and aryepiglottic fold.  In case of pure external laryngocele, the edolaryngeal examination will be normal. CT of the neck with IV contrast may be helpful.

why do kids not get hardly any immunity to strep throat? are there too many different strains?

No One Knows: A good question! at present there is no understanding as to why certain infections trigger life long immunity such as chicken pox and some do not such as strep throat.

can you strain a muscle in the throat at ballgame?

Yes--hoarseness: Your larynx--voice box and vocal cords are made of many small muscles and excesive/loud screaming at a ballgame can cause trauma/inflammation leading to hoarseness etc..Som have fun, but take it easy. Hoarseness from such cause usually resolves in few days with voice rest/fluids etc...If it persists, consult your doc. Good luck.

See an ENT: It may be nothing, but I also see similar symptoms in patients with acid reflux, tonsil or lingual tonsil issues, thyroid nodules, or enlarged thyroid gland.

i have tightness in my throat and i have hard time saying "n" or "h" words because it puts to much strain on my throat. i stutt. sometimes too. why?

Very difficult to: answer. Do you have a lot of anxiety. This may be a driving force. Stuttering is a very complex issue with multiple issues affecting it. I might suggest for you to see an ENT physician to make sure you are alright physically then get a referral to speech pathologist.

Silent Reflex: Those are the symptoms of silent reflex:
excessive throat clearing
persistent cough
hoarseness
a "lump" in the throat that doesn't go away with repeated swallowing

other symptoms include:
a sensation of postnasal drip or excess throat mucus
trouble swallowing
trouble breathing
sore throat
if that what you have, call your doctor  he will help you.

why is it physically hard to talk? some days it's easier and other days im straining to get something out. i've also been told it sounds weird, like something is in my throat. what could be happening?

Speech: Please see your doctor.  You may have an underlying speech condition that needs to be identified.  Anxiety can also play a part and therapy and or speech therapy may be helpful.  Peace and good health.
