STAPH: This is a staph infection until proven otherwise. Staph can get deadly and real nasty real quick. I have treated over 200 of these in the last couple of years and every single patient thought they had a bug bite.  There is a drug resistant staph infection known as MRSA (mersa). You must be seen today.

Oral herpes: Herpes virus will cause herpes infection with small blister and spreads.  These small bumps hurts.  Keep them clean.  Antiviral medication such as Acyclovir will help.  Nonalcohol mouthwash such as biotene will help cleaning to prevent bacterial superinfection.  Orajel or chloraseptic spray will provide temporary numbness of oral mucosa for comfort.

Not a bug bite: Unusual rare form of breast cancer. Diffuse redness and swelling of the skin of the breast. Need to see a doctor for an exam.

Bites don't spread: Bug bites can't spread after scratching, but if the bug deposits an irritant on your skin, you can spread that.  Calamine lotion or an antihistamine lotion may help, along with not scratching.

: Few bug bites are have features that allow identification of the bug. The description is not specific to any one in particular. If caught in the act you know.  If the area is red with increasing size/drainage/has a dark cavity/it may be infected. If not, it should fade.

Extermination methods should be conducted in conjunction with bite treatment to keep from spreading.

Not usually: If you are bitten by brown recluse spider bite then the black area can spread. A severe reaction to any arthropod bite can spread.

No....: If they are truly flea bites, then no, only a hungry flea will spread them. If it is folliculitis instead, which is more common, then possibly can spread. Should see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and management.

Sometimes: Sometimes bug bites will trigger prurigo which is a severe type of eczema. Please see your dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
