OK but not frequent: Senekot used occasionally is safe - if used frequently it can damage the bowel.  It is recommended to increase fiber and fluids in your diet, use stoll softeners (ducosate sodium) and take a gentle laxative like MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) when needed.

As dr. Shim indicated mom is safe and effective as well.

Senna tea: Senna has a laxative effect that can also possibly stimulate uterine contractions.  For that reason, it's not recommended to be used during pregnancy.

The american pregnancy association specifically advises against stimulant laxatives during pregnancy, noting that they can cause contractions in the uterus. Senna can also lead to dehydratio.

: Do you mean you are using oral contraceptive pills? If so then most likely, these pills would not affect  contraception. Just to be safe, in the beginning you can use second method of contraception like condom. Hope it helps.

Try stool softener: Senna can act as an intestinal stimulant and prolonged use may make your gut dependent on it. Try stool softener a and/or fiber supplements. They are safer and non-addictive.

Use either, not both: lacson (lactulose) is safer than senokot, during pregnancy, although relatively safe, use either with caution though, wish you a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby

Senna: Senna sometimes used as a laxative, but when it is used on a chronic basis can cause a condition called melanosis coli. If constipation is an issue, it is better to increase the amount of fiber in the diet and even consider a fiber supplement. You should increase fluid intake if you increase fiber intake. This would be better than chronic senna usage. Good luck.

Nobody really knows: There are thousands of supplements advertised to do all sorts of remedies. Very few supplements have real research studies to show benefits and risks (but manufacturers make claims based on theories, animal tests, testimonials, chemical similarities, etc... but not based on real research because research is hard to do). Probably safer to take a multivitamin and drink things without additives.
