how much vitamin d should i take.? i am not often in the sun, and someone recommended  a 5000 dose sublingual once a day, so i take them. any harm?

Depends: Hi. There's no absolute right level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-D) in the blood. My personal goal for patients is to be at or above the mid-30's. It's estimated that you raise 25-D by about 6 for every 1,000 units of oral vitamin D you take. Therefore, based on how low you are, that helps you estimate a reasonable amount to take. Vit D  toxicity is a myth; only calcitriol can be toxic. Good luck!

how much faster does sublingual melatonin take effect compared to the pill form, and do you have any idea what dosages would be comparable?

Sublingual faster: Yes the sublingual melatonin is absorbed faster. I would estimate that it is absorbed 50% faster than the oral.  As per the doses:  with sublingual melatonin you absorb 50% or so. With the oral medication it is more like a third, but there is a wide range. Because there is a wide range for a given individual the absorption could be roughly equal for both delivery systems. Follow your MDs advice.

can taking oral tablets of klonopin  (not sublingual ones) and placing under the tongue to dissolve, possibly increase the dosage unintentionally?

No: Taking medication other than as directed will not increase the total amount of medication, but may alter the rate of absorption and effectiveness of the medication.  Medicine delivery systems are carefully designed to provide maximum effectiveness.  Take all medications only as directed.

It depends, no: When someone has insomnia B12 is not the first treatment that comes to mind, but B12 is needed for our bodies to make melatonin which helps regulate sleep, so if you are deficient in B12 then taking it can improve sleep. 2500 mcg is totally safe; only a small fraction of B12 is absorbed no amount of B12 is known to be toxic. what can be done for people who have a difficult time upping allergy shot dose due to local reaction?lower dose? repeat 1 dose often?sublingual drops?

Depends: At least 2 studies showed that lowering the dose due to local reaction actually leads to more reactions. On the other hand, one must balance the discomfort against the potential gains. I would ask the patient to take an antihistamine about 2 hrs prior to see if this helps. The next question is whether the dose should be raised any further if there has been sufficient improvement.

gum bleeding was gone with 7- b12 inj 500 mcg daily.after the loading dose,it started again.taking sublingual.but does not help? cause of gum bleding?

I don't think so: Orally disintegrating tablets (or orodispersible) are to be dissolved on the tongue. Sublingual is to be dissolved under the tongue.

Salivary glands: There are three sets of salivary (spit/saliva) glands. The parotid (in front of both ears), the submandibular (just under the mandible on both sides) and the sublingual (under both sides of he tongue).
