They should not: For the most part, dietary fibers don't really bind to much except good at holding onto water (thus softening stool) and so does not prevent absorption of nutrients. So don't worry, take your fibers. Most of us in the good us of a don't consume enough fibers. If you can, do it for better health. If you have concerns, consult doc. Good luck.

i've tried linzess trulance miralax psyllium and other fiber supplements diets my stool is still pencil thin. is triphala safe?

Safe enough: Triphala is an herbal formula used in Aruvedic medicine often for bowel problems/relief of constipation. It consists of at least three plants; it is not clear what chemical is responsible for it's effects. I would be more skeptical that it would provide any benefit for you, if the other things you list have not,more than I would be worried it was unsafe. You could try it without expecting too much

is inulin safe during pregnancy?  i've been taking it in the form of metamucil (not the same as psyllium though).  i've read that it's a vegetable fiber but just wanted to be sure it's safe.  i'm in my 3rd trimester.

AS LONG AS IT IS: A non absorbable compund(which it is) and it is not used in excess, it should be fine.

Yes: These are safe though I wouldn't take them all at once. I advise the multivitamin after breakfast, the probiotic at the start of a meal, the fish oil after lunch or dinner,  apple cider vinegar in water separate from meals and the psyllium at bedtime.

No: Both are appropriate sources of fiber. I wouldn't use the fiber supplements as a substitute for good food choices, such as avoiding processed foods.

Try one.: You will have to try them and compare.  There may be theoretical advantages, but practical differences are what matters most.  Use the one you like best.

Fiber and soft stool: Your doctor found an anal fissure.  He/she wants you to try a stool softener and add fiber tostood diet.  Try pericolace.  It is both.  Fiber helps to bulk up your stool so it isn't small in volume compared to water content.  The stool softener helps the stool stay soft.  Of course a healthy diet and exercise are part of that recommendation.

Fiber supplements: none are "good" to use if by good you mean they have been proven by proper trials to make what is bothering you better. Or make you live longer or healthier.

Sure: You can try this approach, along with increasing fluids.  If you remain constipated, get an eval and you may need some different medications, etc.  Best wishes.

Prilosec Interaction: Can I take my fiber supplement at the same time as I take my prilosec?
No prilosec should be take 1 hour before meals. Due to fiber binding up the drug in the stomach. Suggest 1 hour before fiber supplement or 2 hours afterward.
As always follow OTC label directions or med guidelines from your doctor included with your Prilosec from the pharmacy.
