Decrease Stress: Stress/anxiety makes the symptoms of IBS worse. The goal of giving antidepressants to a patient is to reduce their stress, thus decreasing the IBS symptoms. Antidepressants increase serotonin levels  in nerve endings.  The GI tract and the brain have receptors to which serotonin increasing medicines (antidepressants) bind. Increasing serotonin in the GI tract decreases IBS symptoms.

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if depression is the cause. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

Antidepressants: and other medications can loose their effectiveness over time.  Please visit your doctor.  He/she MAY change the med you are taking or adjust the dosage. If : If you are not responding or getting worse from the treatment regimen that was prescribed, then you need to discuss this with your doctor. You may need a change in medication or a dosage adjustment. You are possibly experinencing an adverse reaction to one of the medications. 
In addition,  therapy is a good option as part of your regimen.

Weight loss: The bottom line is that calories expended must exceed calories consummed.  Recommend at least 5 servings of vegetables & 4 servings of fruit per day. Hydrate well. Try to get in physical activity daily. Working with a nutritionist or with a comercial weight loss program can be of help.
