dr. said i had a stress fracture that healed itself on my small toes area-how come i didn't know? 1/16 ankle tendinitis could that be similar pain ?

A stress fracture: is due to chronic, repetitive use/overuse or microtrauma, so you wouldn't necessarily recall a specific injury or event.  The pain would be in a different location from pain due to ankle tendon pathology.  However, it is conceivable that a chronic ankle tendon issue could lead to altered walking mechanics which could lead to a toe stress fracture.

daughter has ankle tendinitis. doctor says to take nsaids for pain/inflammation. how long can she take naproxen twice a day? risks? 20 yo/190 lbs.

Naproxen &amp; Ankle Ten: Not recommended to take it chronically on a daily basis because of kidney deterioration. She should hopefully only need Naproxen for less than 2-4 weeks in order to treat acute ankle tendonitis. She can discontinue Naproxen abruptly without any side effects. 
Voltaren gel (diclofenac) is a topical NSAID that would be even better for your daughter's ankle. Apply directly to the source of pain.

Could be: The body's initial response to injury or inflammation is often to shut down or weaken muscle groups around an injured joint. This makes sense in the first few days but also quickly leads to muscle atrophy and weakness. If you do not strengthen those muscles during your recovery, you will be exposed to reinjury. Persistent pain after ankle sprain could be sign of more significant injury.

Achilles: Achilles tendinitis develops secondary to excessive stress on the connection of the tendon to the calcaneal bone. Processes that decrease range of motion of the ankle would effect the tendon from being stretched appropriately during waling and that can lead to tendinitis more likely.

See a physician: Achilles tendinitis will generally cause pain in the back of the ankle where the achilles tendon is palpable, the ankle falling asleep may represent a nerve problem. Swelling inside and outside is too far from the achilles tendon and may represent a different problem such as inflammation/tendinitis of a different tendon, trauma, arthritis, inflammatory disease, infection and rarely a blood clot.
