PainInTheTemple, Oy!: At your age it could be an inflamed temporal artery, which is a marker for inflammation to deeper arteries, some of which could affect your eye and eyesight. So best to go see your doctor right away. A blood test could give a fairly good answer. If it's not that (called "temporal arteritis) then your doctor could try and figure out something else with a sigh of relief that it wasn't arteritis.

Consult a doctor: You should see, or at least have a discussion with, a doctor.  There are some serious causes of temporal headaches.  One of these is temporal arteritis, which can cause blindness if not treated quickly.  Take care, and I wish you well.

Tension: is most likely because you have muscles in this area on both sides that might tend to tighten at the same time if you are holding tension.  That would also cause some tenderness upon touch.  Migraines are usually on one side only and mores serious things are much more likely in older folks.  Try cool compresses on temples and neck, resting in a dark room, some mild analgesic like acetaminophen.

Theta: is normal on an EEG especially with late hyperventilation or drowsiness. Persistent focal theta (4 cps) activity may be abnormal and could represent the presence of a structural lesion or post ictal slowing but in your situation, the other side slows as well and is likely a normal finding. Delta slowing (4 cups or less) is almost always abnormal if not associated with certain stages of sleep).

Short answer: Yes....but in your case...other contributing factors to short term memory loss could also be the effects of epilepsy itself on a chronic basis and even more importantly the long term effects of taking antiepileptic medications.

So, there is decrease interest in sex, instead of increase.
