Let them chew: Chewing on something cold and firm is helpful. One idea is to give them a damp washcloth that has been frozen in the freezer to chew on. Commercial teeth rings that can be frozen are available as well. Teething is a normal process. I would avoid medication like painkillers unless absolutely necessary. Most babies really don't need them.

Toys and medicatons: Teething hurts you child and your ears. You can try pain medications like children's tylenol (acetaminophen) , ice chips, a soft clean chew toy.  But don't use topical dental pain mess like oragel, they are not meant for infants.

On : On april 7, 2011, the fda released a warning about over-the-counter Benzocaine products to relieve pain due to teething. The issue was that Benzocaine could lead to situations in which blood cells contained too much methemoglobin. This in turn reduced the ability of the blood to carry oxygen.  Baby orajelÂ® naturals does not contain benzocaine.

If she was sleeping through the night and now she is waking up a few times and cries and can 't fall asleep, if she was eating well and now she is not. If, however, the fever is associated with any other symptoms (cough, sneezing, nasal congestion, rash, unusual fussiness, unconsolable crying, etc.) contact your pediatrician or family doctor to rule out other possible causes for the fever.

Anything over 100F should be reported to Pediatrician.  Also talk to Pediatrician about teething aids (such as chilled teething rings) and OTC analgesics.  Also 1st birthday + 1st Dental Examination.  Seek out a Pedodontist (Specialist).

Pain: Not sure what a teething necklace is. But teethers are common for babies. They help to soothe their gums when their teeth are starting to erupt. The best ones are the ones that you freeze, since the coldness helps soothe as well.
Be careful of any kind of necklace on children as this can be a choking hazard! i recommend using just handheld teethers.

New formula: They were recalled by the fda in 2010  the tablets, a homeopathic remedy, are supposed to contain vanishingly small amounts of belladonna, a toxin from a poisonous plant known as deadly nightshade.But  since july of 2011 have a new formula and are considered same.
