Family Rx: Teen suicide has always been common and is finally getting the attention that it needs. Most often it follows ridicule / verbal abuse. While this often happens at school, it is even more common in the home. There are also organic mood disorders and faulty patterns of thinking that we can address with medicines, but helping families function better and helping kids with schoolmates are often key.

Cyberbullying is a particularly malignant form of bullying.

Unknown: Likely a much higher number than anyone knows. Many teens/kids don't leave details when they commit suicide, so many people don't know the why? Were they bullied - perhaps. But as often as we know they were, there are probably more that were bullied and never confided that fact to anyone and suffered in silence. It is a very sad and deadly situation that these kid's emotional needs are ignored.

"better christian" may mean a more serious commitment to the golden rule, love & forgiveness (good), to getting involved with politics that you may not agree with or feeling troubled about your emerging sexuality (danger). Your physician or maybe even dad might help.
