Sharp shooting pains: The most common symptom is a sharp shooting electrical type pain that can zap into the foot or up the medial leg. If  you tap on a spot half way between your inner ankle bone and heel, and feel a sharp pain, that is probably a tarsal tunnel.  The treatment depends on the cause. If it is biomechanical ( flat feet) an orthotic could help, often cortisone injections can help, rarely surgery is needed.
