Sorry to hear: you overdid it at the tanning salon.As you know, this increases your risk for future skin cancer. Very likely the "burn" caused some inflammation in your skin; if bacteria from skin contact with surface should be red. It sounds like it is very mild as there is no redness or itching. Put some OTC cortisone cream on the bumps; they should resolve in a few days. Please reconsider/avoid tanning beds:)

Tan/bed/issues!: STOP using this treatment! Seek in person burn evaluation from Primary Doc, PS, or Dermatologist.

: I suspect you "tanned" too much. I prefer to call it cooking your skin and your got tanning machine burned. If you your are taking meds that predispose to UV skin injury check with your Dr. Beware.

Don't tan: Some people have an itchy rash from ultraviolet light exposure called polymorphous light eruption.  Does this occur with natural sunlight also?  Are you on any medications.  There are many caused of light-induced rashes.  Tanning beds are proven causes of skin cancer.  Please don't use them!

Red bumps: The red bumps may be hives brought on by the tanning bed. Take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for your itching and consult your doctor for more help.

No.: Due to skin cancer risks of tanning beds, I am in agreement with ben ferguson who states that there is no exposure to tanning beds that is safe or harmless, chemo or no chemo.

Would get checked: If you have never noticed it before, a new lump under thenipple should be checked. In a young age group, an ultrasound +/- biopsy would be able to clarify it for you quickly.

: The metal rods and plates should not affect the tanning bed. As long as you can lay comfortably in the tanning bed, it is not an issue. Good luck to you!

: Yes. You increase your risk of getting skin cancer.
You can reduce your risk of cancer by adopting healthy habits: Eat a mostly vegetarian diet, avoid alcohol, tobacco and street drugs, avoid excessive exposure to sun, maintain healthy weight, get HPV vaccine, exercise 30 minutes each day, drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless.
