Plan B: is most effective when taken within the first 24 hours of intercourse and loses some effectiveness the further out it is taken. It is still effective 72 hours from intercourse.

Menses: When you quit being pregnant it can be a few months for your body to get back into rhythm. Ususally it is a few, bur for some women it can be up to 6 months.

Birth control: Since you had an abortion this week that tells me that it is important to you not to get pregnant. Please see an Obgyn and get started on birth control. This way you can take control of your life and be pregnant when you want to be. Having anal sex a few days after a medical abortion does not lead to infection unless your male partner is carrying an STD.

It's OK.: You've been through a lot these past few months. Having a painful period is nothing to worry about. You can use heat, exercise, decrease caffeine/sugar. Over the counter meds like ibuprofen, midol or pamprin will often give relief. And, with both of those events so recently, i'd strongly recommend getting on birth control.

Yes : It is not very likely that you would have gotten pregnant that soon after a medical abortion but anytime yuo have unprotected intercourse there is a risk of pregnancy. Plan b would decrease the risk. Please see your doctor to start an effective long term birth control method.

: Home pregnancy test are usual accurate.  A medical abortion is not always effective  in ending a pregnancy.  To be certain, obtain a quantitative HCG level which will show the progressive state of the pregnancy, and provide information about the age of the pregnancy.

Just couldn't wait?: I guess you just couldn't wait for sex until the MD gave you the "all clear" after retention of products of conception inside the uterus? News Flash! The act of intercourse could significantly increase your risk for a serious intra-uterine infection of those products of conception.  Oh yes, your concern was another conception? Call your abortion MD for his/her advice/exam &amp; your previous actions.

Note that evangelicals consider life to begin at conception - so who is the responsible party for those 80% spontaneously passed.  Mormons believe that life begins at implantations so they support stem cell research.

It continues to reduce the risk of pregnancy up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex, but is less effective as time passes.
