See a doctor: Any diarrhea or other major change in bowel habits lasting more than 7-10 days should be medically evaluated. So see your doctor soon. It's impossible to even guess at the cause without a lot more detail. Good luck!

colon resection w/9 wk ileostomy.  6 mos post reversal. surgeon plenty of bowel to function normal by now 2 day bowel cycle: max metamucil daily, clustering bulky stools until diarrhea over hours, then imodium (every 2 days) .  how do i get normal?

: You should introduce fiber into your diet, stay well hydrated and increase your physical activity.  With patience an a regular plan should help.  Your surgeon should be of assistance.

i have open angle glaucoma and suffer from mild ibs.  am i ok in taking imodium every now and again when i have a flare up.  ?  i use cosopt and lumigan eye drops.

Immodium is fine: Immodium is active in slowing down colonic activity.  It is useful for diarrhea along with fiber and appropriate diet.  There is no interaction between immodium and the eye so continue your anti-glaucoma medications and don't worry about immodium.

Diarrhea: stay hudrated.  May need a prescription for lomotil (diphenoxylat and atropine).  IVF is a possibility if it gets worse. See your physician or head to ER

i'm have diarrhea about every hour, threw up once, took some imodium, (loperamide) it helped a little, now trying pepto, trying to stay hydrated, anything else?

You want to: avoid "rebound" CONSTIPATION..Imodium (loperamide) is ENOUGH..don't use PEPTO along with it!

Stay hydrated and you can EAT the following  Applesauce  Banana's and  RICE cereal (Rice CRispy)

i have recurring diarrhoea every few weeks. it starts with burps and then a few hours later runny tummy. ive tried probiotics and imodium. nothing works. dont know what causes it to start. usually lasts approx 3 days. can i cure / prevent this?

See your GP: We don't know enough about your overall health history to be able to give you a more specific answer than to see your GP for an exam and appropriate testing, including testing for parasites.  Once that is done if no cause is found, see a gastroenterologists.  In the meantime, avoid ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin and other drugs in that class.  Also avoid Splenda (sucralose) and Stevia.

How long: It seems like you are having excessive diarrhea,. fever? sick contacts? Sometimes eating bad food can do this. Other possibilities are that you could have contracted a virus or something of the like. There definitely are more serious conditions such as diverticulitis that can be diagnosed by a physican in person. Key to drink LOTs of fluids and don't take more than 8 immodium daily

Imodium (loperamide): I would question the real need for Imodium (loperamide) on a daily basis here. If your gastroenterologist is following you for ibs diarrhea-type, then this may be part of the therapy plan. But i would need more context to provide more detailed direction/recommendations. Seeing a licensed gastroenterologist (if you're not already) is recommended.

if you took pepto bismol can you take imodium (loperamide) the same day?

Pepto + Imodium (loperamide): This should be no problem and often these two drugs are prescribed together.  I would recommend that you space each drug as far apart from the other drug as possible.  This way the pepto bismol will not interfere with the system absorption of the imodium (loperamide).

ive been having pink mucus diarrhea all day today. is it something i should be concerned about or just take imodium?

Rule out antibiotics: The mucus suggests coliitis. Are you taking antibiotics? If so you would be at risk for c diff colitis which needs specific treatment. 
if you have no fever, have no crampy pains, and are generally ok taking plenty of fluids and immodium you should be okay but do not hesitate to seek medical advice if things get worse.
