Delayed menses: Some women experience a delay in return of menses after discontinuation of oral contraceptives. Pregnancy should be ruled out with a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test is negative, suggest watchful waiting.

No: I have not seen a study that would recommend for you to stop contraceptives secondary to spider veins. Contraceptives can increase the risk of clots in some patient populations such as those over age 35 that smoke.

i stop taking contraceptive pill for 6 months now. been having cramping 1 week before period, which is not usual for me. is it normal?

Native cycle: Being off OCPs for 6 months you have returned to the cycle and symptoms you would have had if you never took them. One of the reasons many people take OCPs is to reduce cramping and pain.

i've been bleeding solidly for last 10 weeks. i'm not pregnant, and am taking contraceptive pill. really worried. what might cause this?

See Doctor ASAP!: If your having vaginal bleeding (not just spotting) everyday for the past 10 weeks, despite being on birth control pills, my first concern is that you may have become anemic (low blood count).  This can be be very dangerous, so please go see your clinician asap.  They can perform a vaginal and pelvic exam, lab tests, an ultrasound, +/- a biopsy to rule out a hormonal, anatomic or infectious cause.

: Oral contraceptive pills come in two versions. One type is a packet of 28 pills which you are to take one daily. The other is Emergency contraceptive pill which comes in a packet of 2 pills. These pills should be taken in emergency situations only (such as when other contraceptive methods have failed) and need to be taken within 12 and 24 hours of the time of intercourse. Not 2 days later.

Minimal: U have already ovulated so the risk of pregnancy is minimal even if u had not started on the pill. This however is a low risk time in ur cycle but it is not impossible to 2 get pregnant. B careful from now on.

No: Estrogen is commonly given for pts going through gender conversion though the amounts in birth control are lower than the amts typically prescribed by physicians  helping pts with gender reassignment. Consult your doctor for proper doses.

Yes and no: Likely the slimming tablets will not interfere with the birth control, but slimming pills usually are no help in the long run.
