No: The skin lesions of syphilis are variable but will not be confined to the acne zones and will not produce pus.  If you are concerned that you may have syphilis, a cheap and reliable blood test is available from your physician.

Congenital syphilis: A rash, enlarged lymph nodes, enlarged liver and spleen occur in the first 3 months. There may be poor weight gain, seizures, or hydrocephalus. Women are usually tested in pregnancy for syphilis, so it is rare to have an unexpected syphilis infection in a  newborn.

Yes and yes: Most cases of syphilis are asymptomatic most of the time. If you think you might have been exposed, you need a blood test. If recently exposed, wait until 6 weeks later. The 4th generation HIV blood tests (also called "combo", "duo", antigen-antibody tests) turn positife within 4 weeks of infection, so a negative result at 37 days is conclusive.

: Early latent syphilis -- up to a year since infection -- often is sexually transmissible due to possible subtle (difficult to recognize) lesions, often internally (mouth, rectum, vagina). Late latent syphilis (over 1 yr duration) is sexually not transmissible at all. Transmission potential can continue congenitally (i.e. to a fetus in utero) or by blood transfusion.

tested positive for syphilis & got one penicillin injection july 1, 14 days now most signs are gone. still some tongue discolor. how long to be normal?

Syphilis: I know I am the second to respond to this. But, My concern is that a discoloration of the tongue could be other things.  Your physician will, at this point, know your syphilis antibodies count and will know if they need to retreat you or just follow with a repeat test in three months. But, if the tongue issue does not resolve you may want your dentist to take a look as well.

i've been taking doxycycline hyclate for about a week for syphilis and it doesn't appear to be showing any signs of healing please respond asap thanks?

Followup: It dies take time, and if there is a chancre- it takes a while for that to clear completely!
Be aware that there are some resistant strains and additional treatment may be needed!!
 This is a bad disease! AND to be avoided!! AND avoid spreading further! REPORTABLE disease

i got 2 red circles on my left hand fingers that has been existing since last week. it has a white collarette-like thing around. i got negative on syphilis 3 weeks ago and i always use condom. but i read that it might be biett sign. am i alright?

: It is not possible to have a syphilitic rash with a negative syphilis blood test. The finger "circles" are caused by something else. See a doctor to evaluate the cause in case it's something else that may be serious.

No.: Those are not typical early symptoms. But if you have had risky sex, you need to make sure you don't have either one, or other std's, too.  Don't wait for symptoms, often there may be none until the infection is advanced. Practice safe sex from now on!

i got tested last week for std's. i received txt to say syphilis negative however nothing regarding hiv test or chlamydia yet.is this a negative sign?

Takes time.: It can take up to two weeks for you to receive all of your results. Give it some time. In the mean time if you're concerned about and std, use condoms when you're having sex and if any of your tests come back positive, it's your responsibility to let all of your sexual contacts know.
