i was diagnosed with lsil 2 years ago after a biopsy neg hpv. i was pregnant at the time and i was supposed to go back after her birth. i didnt out of fear and always being at work. im now having odd symptoms. how often does lsil turn into cancer?

: LSIL very rarely progresses to cancer, and it is normal for LSIL to clear up without treatment. If were going to lead to cancer, your pap smear would not have become normal.  All is well — you are at little or no risk for cancer or any other serious problem from HPV.

31y.old.pap test(thin prep) says intense cervix inflammation ,reactive abnormalities related to inflammation. no other abnormalities. no malignancy. should i check for hpv even ther is no lsil or hsil??only symptom mild pain during sex?

Accepted Answer

: Pain is a component of HSV, however it originates in genital ulcer formation, and is unrelated to general cervical inflammation.  These pain cources  may be symptomatically difficult to distinguish, but see your GYN physician for guidance.  HSV is very contagious, and may accompany the pap smear diagnosis of "reactive abnormalities".

what is lsil can it make females infertile?

LSIL: Lsil stands for low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. Women with lsil.  Lsil usually indicates mild dysplasia , more than likely caused by a human papillomavirus infection. It is usually diagnosed following a pap smear.  It does not mean you will be infertile.

It is possible: LSIL does not prevent pregnancy. Low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) is a common abnormal result on a Pap test, and is also known as mild dysplasia. A woman with LSIL should follow-up closely with her Ob-Gyn doctor regarding LSIL follow-up, treatment, and future pregnancies. Many women with LSIL have spontaneously cleared their LSIL on follow-up exams.

i'm hpv positive with lsil. should i tell my bf that i have hpv? i already showed him my lsil result.

HPV: HPV is a very common virus. It is probably more dangerous for women than men. You are wise to keep a close watch on this with your GYN.  It would be best to inform your boyfriend and all sexual partners that you have HPV. Use of a condom can help prevent it's spread.   If you BF were to develop condylomata they can be easily treated with cryotherapy, laser ablation or excision.

See below: Your immune system can control viral replication but elimination of dysplastic lesions is the goal in treating squamous intraepithelial lesions (SILs). There are generally two options after the diagnosis of low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions has been confirmed by biopsy: follow up with repeat Pap tests every 4-6 months, or local excision such as LEEP biopsy

This change has no i: There should not be any impact from the metaplasia. That is not contagious as long as you do not have hvp infection.

Probably not: The virus that causes herpes and the virus that can cause lsil are two different viruses.  A diagnosis of herpes will typically not cause your pap test to be abnormal.

No cancer: The report states that the tissue did not have any serious issues.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i have been so depressed since i found out its highly possible i may have hpv, doctor said right now its lsil and will watch it until next year. it worries me a lot that i have lupus and that it wont go away. is there anything i can do to help it?

: A few facts about HPV may help you cope a bit better. Over 90% of all sexually active people are infected with HPV at one time or another; you can assume at least half of all women you know have active HPV right now. It almost always clears up, and will do so despite your lupus; and LSIL almost never progresses to cervical cancer. Get vaccinated to prevent future cancer- and wart-causing HPV.
