Autoimmune: tests have to be interpreted within context and vary widely depending on the ratio of antibody titers. A positive or negative ANA does not necessarily mean you do or don`t have lupus. Other autoimmune phenomenon besides SLE can present in similar ways.

Maybe: Depends on the doctor, generally we recommend cystoscopy to complete the evaluation for reversible causes but some doctors may decide it is ok to trial some treatment for symptom management while awaiting cysto. Depends on your symptoms too because the medical treatment choices vary depending on which symptoms are most dominant in your case. Wouldn't hurt to ask them. Hope this helps

IC relief: Hydration (uop > 2000ml/24 hours), avoiding foods that contain potassium (eg bananas) and avoiding spicy foods (chilis).  Alkalinizing urine may also help.

Painful Bladder: Ic is a condition that has multiple symptoms.  Most common symptoms are frequent urination, urinary urgency and pain in the bladder and pelvic area.

There is no definitive test to diagnose ic, but there is usually inflammation of the lining of the bladder that produces the symptoms. 

Treatments include dietary changes, medication, and possibly bladder instillation of various compounds.
