Blood level greater: Than 5 units of HCG is generally used as the diagnostic level. Urine tests are less sensitive and depend on the concentration of urine. If you are more than two weeks past your expected period, do a hpt with first morning urine and see this site for info.

Well.... : It is hard to make a judgment based on one isolated hormone level. BHCG  levels vary widely from person to person. It's better to follow a trend by checking a second level a few days later. That gives you more information.

No not necessarily: Any gestational age has a range of values,wether it be affected by multple eggs or the number of days since conception.This is why the patients history is a part of the equation.By that i mean last menstrualperiod.

Yes.: Yes, it's possible. If you ovulated at the time of having sex on sept. 2, then fertilization (pregnancy) may have occured shortly thereafter.

Ultrasound is right: Hcg levels don't mean much, the ultrasound is what is used for dating criteria.

Pregnancy or tumor: Hcg is the normal hormonal product of the placenta and so levels are high in pregnancy; a urine pregnancy test looks for hcg.  However some tumors also produce hcg, so a high level in a man, or in a non-pregnant woman, strongly suggests a tumor that needs to be found and treated as soon as possible.
