Dyspepsia: Functional dyspepsia is defined as upset stomach, indigestion, heartburn without evidence for organic disease.  Had been know as Non-ulcer dyspepsia. Incomplete bowel motion is associated with constipation. The GI tract works by sending an electrical signal from your mouth to your anus and rythmic peristalsis causes tract to work. Various conditions upset this rythm and cause both conditions.

taking pan40 for dyspepsia, doctor asked t b back in 4 weeks. im on day 11 and still felling some disconfort, although i do fell a little better. will the symptoms disappear completely? if so, how long until it fully works?

: You should take the meds for a minimum of 2 weeks before making any decision as to its effectiveness. Symptoms may not disappear completely and another medicine may be needed.

i take amitriptyline for functional dyspepsia/ibs, it worked well at 5mg for 3 weeks then it stopped working, went up to 10mg worked for a week then stopped and now same with 15mg. my main symptom is lower abdominal burning. do i ask my doc to go up?

: 15 mg is still a low dose and dose can be increased if needed provided it is effective.
