i usually take my symbicort inhaler at twice 3pm and then 3am. missed it today and took it at 7pm. do i have to take it at 7am now?

Not necessarily...: ...however, why were you told to wake up at 3am?  If it is because you are night shift worker, then I understand.  But if not, you may consider rotating to a more tolerable schedule, such as 7am and 7pm.  But if you want to remain 3pm and 3am, you do not have to wait until 7.  Taking Symbicort again within 8 hours won't hurt if done this one time.

hello. insurance doesnt cover advair anymore looking for an alternative inhaler. is qvar, symbicort , wyxela best? also i have qvar that is year and few months expired is it safe to take? if none what do you recommend thank you

Similar ingredients: The are several inhalers with similar medications, used for the same lung conditions that Advair is used for. For example, there is Symbicort, and there is Qvar plus salmeterol. One's doctor can help decide whether a change would be helpful or not. Patients should not change medications without talking to their prescribing doctors.

No: Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) is the second fixed dose inhaler in combin ation. There is a long acting bronchodilator (formoterol) & a steroid (pulmicort).
Itnis indicated for the maintenance & control of asthma, not for acute use.

i have been using a symbicort inhaler for 2 weeks now but still have a lot of phlegm on my chest.  can i use a mucolytic with my inhaler?

Yes: Yes you can. If you have copious amounts of discolored sputum you may have a bacterial bronchitis and could profit from a course of an appropriate antibiotic. If there is persistent wheezing, oral corticosteroids may also be needed. Discuss these issues with your physician.

Yes: Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) is an inhaled steroid as opposed to a systemic steroid.  As such, its effects should be limited to the lungs, and not adversely affect your weight loss goals like a systemic steroid would.

whenever i do my symbicort inhaler  (have to breathe in deep and hold for 10 seconds) my left chest hurts.  is this normal? i'm anxious about it

Only on left side?: Suggests perhaps you have air trapping there or a lung rupture or pneumothorax.  If the pain persists, or there is any more shortness of breath than normal, you should have an xray.  Good luck!
