STD? Herpes?: It would be a big mistake to try to diagnose or treat this yourself. It could be an infection that needs a prescription antibiotic. If you are sexually active, an STD (e.g. herpes) is a good bet. Stop screwing around and see a doctor. Good luck!

Need more info: What was your bf doing before the vein became swollen? If he did any exercise, including sex, then that would be a normal response, including the disappearance of the prominent vein.

Needs evaluation.: It is not normal to have a swollen vein under your armpit(axilla).  It could be nothing more than enlargement due to inflammation but it can also be a sign of something more significant.  You need to be evaluated by vein specialist or vascular surgeon and you may need a venous ultrasound.

Have it checked: Swollen veins anywhere is not normal, and if you had painful, swollen veins, you need to see a doctor. So, s/he can determine the cause, the extent, and work you up further. It would be unusual to have a vericosity there (vericose vein), and is much better to visualize upon abdominal examination.

Very different.: A dislocated bone is usually the result of trauma and is very painful.  A swollen vein can be a varicose vein and these are not tender unless they are clotted.  If you had a dislocated bone, you would have significant pain with movement.  See your md if necessary.

Phlebitis Arm: It sounds as if you have developed superficial thrombophlebitis of a vein in your arm.  You should see a doctor and get it evaluated, as you could develop bacterial phlebitis which can be serious.  Non bacterial phlebitis can often be treated with warm compresses and anti-inflammatories, but you also need to make sure that the phelbitis doesn't extend and cause a deeper more serious clot, i.e. Dvt.
