what is the best way to reduce the size of a swollen soft palate?  i am on nasonex, (mometasone) but that doesn't seem to help all that much.  any other suggestion

Uvula: I would suggest an evaluation to determine the cause is it due to snoring trauma or infection or allergy the treatment will be different and range from antibiotics possible steroids or even repairing a deviated nasal septum if snoring.

hello. my soft palate seems to have this wierd sensation of feeling webby-ish or swollen it doesnt hurt or anything its just an uncomfortable feeling.

   A perfect time to contact your dentist! Possibilities could vary from a tonsillitis, a strep throat, even a possible dental origin could cause symptoms. An oral diagnosis is needed and do not delay  scheduling an appointment.

Tight throat: Could due to several conditions. More worrisone would be anaphylaxis which could be life threatening. If you started a new medication, seek medical help immediately.

i scratched my tonsils and soft palate while eating a tortilla chip. tonsils are slightly swollen with a thin streak of white. is this normal healing?

Yes: If you are asymptomatic, that is without pain or bleeding from the tonsil,  i would not do anything.  If you are symptomatic with pain or pain on swallowing, see an ENT doctor.

for 4 months, i have had intermittent swelling of my soft palate (it doesn't look swollen, but appears to be sinking lower in my mouth). what is it?

See an ENT Doctor: I would not hesitate to see an ENT specialist.  I t may be nothing, but don't wait and take a chance.  Could be a mouth breathing issue.

my left soft palate is really sore and swollen. it only hurts on my left side of mouth and has been like this for 3 days. what could this be?

Probably a cold sore: You may have a canker sore caused by the herpes virus.  These are especially painful little lesions that may occur in the mouth.  They may be so painful as to cause it to be difficult to swallow! you could try some Valtrex (valacyclovir) from you fp to decrease the pain intensity and duration. For the most part, this is a viral infection that may just take some time to heal. Continue with supportive measures.

my husbands soft palate is swollen causing it to stick an make his throat feel like its closing hes waking up several times a night what could it be?

Sleep apnea?: Oftentimes during sleep we breathe with our mouths open which can dry out the oral tissues and make them "stick". Snoring can also contribute to this. I would recommend being tested for sleep apnea by a sleep specialist if this continues to be a problem. Also, a dental device can be fabricated to keep the airway open.

when i swallow certain foods my soft palate becomes very sore and gets little bumps all over it.  do i have some sort of food allergy?

Acidic: is the food you are eating acidic?? That can sometimes cause the sores.
