???: What does the p___ stand for?  Swollen lymph glands above the collarbone is a worrisome sign.  It can occasionally be from infection, but can also reflect tumor in lymph tissue, lung, pancreas or pelvis.  See a doctor soon!!!

can bell's palsy cause complete deafness in the ear and swollen lymph nodes down to the clavicle on the affected side of face?

Accepted Answer

No: Bell's palsy is due to paralysis of the 7th (facial) cranial nerve on one side.  Hearing is affected by damage to the auditory division of the 8th cranial nerve.  It is possible, however, to have the same causative agent affect both of these simultaneously, although unusual.  The enlarged lymph nodes are also a result of whatever is causing the paralysis rather than a part of bell's palsy.

Could be many?: Swollen lymph nodes could indicate an infection by bacteria, virus or fungus.  It could mean infiltration by tumor.  The significance would be determined by your clinical presentatiion.  Older patient?  Younger patinet?  Known acute illness?  Known or unknown cancer?  The lymph nodes above the clavicles drain/filter  the head and neck.  If this is new i would get checked.  If old, ?.  See md.

Swollen lymph nodes: Many times swollen lymph nodes happen as a reaction to something/a condition occurs in the head and neck area- like if you have any inflammation, infection , or other process including malignancy that happens in the mouth, tongue, throat etc. Your ENT will evaluate your ear, mouth and throat area to see if there is anything explaining the lymph nodes and do necessary work-up -may include a biopsy.

Yes: There are no lymph nodes in the clavicle but there are near the clavicle. A ct scan should help.

i was randomly checking my clavicle for swollen lymph nodes and i pushed on something and got dizzy. did i push an artery? will i be ok?

Accepted Answer

No worry: If you push hard enough , this can happen. The great vessels in the neck can be more superficial in some people; especially in thin individuals.  I would not get overly concerned.

my 2.5 year old son has swollen lymph nodes in neck, clavicle, underarm and groin.  only swollen on the left side, fever started 2 days ago.

Lymphadenopathy: At this age, we see fever with certain group of lymph node enlargement, like neck, under chin, behind ears and some other areas. Cause is mostly of viral. If multiple groups are involved with fever but no rash, i will advise to have a thorough exam by his pediatrician, check for liver /spleen enlargement, have simple blood test like a cbc. With diff. And any more if needed.
Do not get scared.

You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

More specifics: Do you mean the swollen nodes at the left side  of the neck and  not the whole body?  If so, it may mean that there is a sinus infection or dental abscess. I can't think of a condition which causes nodes to be enlarged involving much of the left side of the body. Perhaps you need a second opinion by seeing another doctor
