Accepted Answer

Uncertain: Other things besides cancer can cause lymph node enlargement but it certainly warrants being checked out by you primary care physician.  They may elect to follow you for a few weeks to see if it doesn't go away.  If not, they may refer you to someone to do a sampling which can be done as a small surgery or needle procedure.

Imaging studies: They might, but interpretation might be difficult depending upon their size. Ct scan would be much more valuable.

Accepted Answer

No: There are many reasons to have swollen lymph nodes.  Some are common problems, like infection other are cancerous.  Breast cancer is not the only cancer to cause lymph node enlargement.  
This can only be answered with an examination by a doctor.

i have 2 peasize swollen lymph nodes been under armpit for 6 months. no pain/itch. im 24 and not married, would there be a chance for breast cancer?

Small chance: It would be a good idea to be evaluated by your family doctor or surgeon.  Most lymphadenopathy in young people is related to reactive benign cause like infection, tattoos, dermatitis, or medications like dilantin.  Breast cancer is rare at your age, but not unheard of especially if there is a family history.  Hodgkin lymphoma is also a consideration in young women.

i'm 16 (f) with bad armpit and left breast pain accompanied by heat, swollen lymph nodes and red flush. my nipple has also inverted. possible ibc?

Nipple problem: Breast is a  glandular organ always preparing for milk production during pregnancy.    To keep  the milk ducts open, fluid is secreted into t he ducts which pass on to the nipple, the central spoke of the wheel.  If the nipple is inverted, the opening of the ducts are blocked and fluid cant pass out to evaporate.  If any minor infection occurred in duct it doesn't drain and causes your symptoms.

Multiple causes: Get a comprehensive physical examination and I would recommend brest imagining and a hematology opinion.

May need biopsy.....: If the lymph nodes are persistent after seeing your doctor and being evaluated for a possible infection and perhaps being treated with a course of antibiotics, a consultation with a breast cancer surgeon may be needed.  Also, a proper breast exam with your doctor, mammogram and ultrasound should be performed if not already.

Can be: Usually a breast mass would be felt by the time breast cancer has spread to enlarged lymph nodes that can be felt under the arm. Usually the lymph nodes are painless. Any physical change you are feeling should be evaluated with a doctor and likely a mammogram. Many things including infections and cancers can cause enlarged lymph nodes.

Pain due to infectio: Painful lymph nodes are usually inflammatory or infectious.  Cancer lymph nodes usually don't hurt unless they are very large.
