i have a small, swollen lump on the back of my head. it is tender to the touch or pillow. i have had no trauma to the area.  is this a concern?

Depends: If it is uncomfortable, you should go to doctor, it can be a cyst, and it might be infected or it can get infected, or it might be a lymph node and signify some kind of infection in the area. In any case it is better to take care of it earlier before it becomes a bigger problem.

Likely lymph node: There are thousands of lymph node located around the body that help screen out germs in the body serum. There are many in the neck, head &amp; behind the ear. At rest these are often 1/4 inch in diameter (pea sized) and may grow to marble sized when reacting to a stimulus. Bug bites, or viral infections can increase their size.What you describe is normal.If concerned review this with the kids doc.

Your headaches sound somewhat migrainous in nature but you should seek further evaluation and consider an eye examination, lab tests, and an MRI if warranted by history and physical exam. There are treatments that may be beneficial.
