Yes, can be: Lymph nodes can be enlarged due to infection or other reasons. If it is due to infection, they will decrease in size although it may take 4 to 6 weeks. If they enlarge any further and get to a size of 2 cm or larger, they may be caused by some other causes than an infection. Then a node biopsy may be indicated to find out the cause.

Depends: That can vary but usually you will notice by week a difference if it is the right antibiotic and presuming the glands are reacting to a bacterial, not viral or other cause.

Infection: Depending on your symptoms and response to the first course of antibiotics, if it was partial, a second course sometimes is warranted to eradicate an infection. If your symptoms persist or worsen, the treatment will need to be reassessed.

Usually &lt; 2 weeks: If from a bacterial infection (i.e. Strep throat for neck lymph nodes), groin lymph nodes from leg skin infection, then &lt; 2 weeks. If enlarged for allergies, non bacterial infection, or other than the antibiotics have no impact.

Lymphadenopathy: Swollen glands are not an indication for use of antibiotics without a specific diagnosis and you are likely to do yourself more harm than good by continuing to take these. You need to see a doctor who will clearly establish whether there is a medical problem or these swollen glands are simply the body's reaction to a prior illness.

YES: FINISH THE ANTIBIOTICS.

Your health care provider gave you the antibiotic to treat your problem.  If you do not finish all the medicine, then that could cause a relapse, of the problem.

ABX: take days to start working. A sore throat may take up to a week to resolve. Try salt water gargle/spit, honey, and lozenges until then. Best of luck!

Careful!: If you have strep throat, your symptoms will go away without antibiotics but you could get rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease if you don't take them. Get a throat culture to be sure!  If you have strep, antibiotics help pretty fast and you'll feel better sooner, too.

Throat redness: These may not be secondary to an infection, you may need further work up.
