my husband has very swollen feet with burning, peeling skin he has a history of eczema and they hurt to move. it doesn't itch. is this a foot fungus?

Not necessarily: If his feet are very swollen this can cause cracks in the skin and cause the skin to blister or peel. This could be due to eczema or just from the swelling. They can be painful due to the skin being broken to move them. Best to have them checked out, he may need a steroid cream, compression, or it could be a fungal infection, but the only way to know would be to have them looked at.

Tinea Pedis: It sounds like a tinea pedis or athletes foot. Fungus can be very resistant to medication. Put lotrimin (clotrimazole) AF cream as well as hydrocortisone cream 15 three times a day for a week. Also, dry feet and toes carefully, then apply gold bond powder into your socks immediately after bathing or swimming. Good luck.

Foot fungus: You most likely have a fungal infection called Athletes foot or tinea pedis.  Get some Lamisil (terbinafine) or Lotrimin cream OTC and use it twice daily.  Expose your feet to the air by wearing flip flops or sandals.  Soak the feet in white vinegar or Epsom salts daily.  If it doesn't improve or you see red streaks going up your leg see a doctor immediately.

My recommendation would be to either visit a podiatrist or a dermatologist and have them take a skin biopsy of your feet and send it to pathology to discover exactly what type of skin condition you have. Based on that, a proper treatment plan and medication can be administered to treat it.
