got my ears pierced aboit 2 weeks ago. now they're really tender and painful and i've discovered a swollen gland right below ear lobe. is it infection?

Otitis externa: very likely it is.Please see a doctor right away.You need antibiotics ASAP.if the infection spreads,you will be in terrible pain.not to scare you,seek medical help.

Salivary gland?: Are you properly vaccinated for mumps? If so then you might have a little stone in the salivary duct. Most of the time they pass on their own. Sour things like lemon or pickles make it worse.If it does not pass see an ent.

Suggests infection: in ear or scalp.  Apply warm compress to see if it becomes less sore. Otherwise, don't mash or mess with it.  If you have ear pain or drainage, need to be seen.

Which gland: Swollen lymph nodes can be the result of your body fighting an infection (common cold or skin infection).  Even a cat scratch can result in node changes.  There are lymph nodes in the area before your ears (pre-auricular) which if swollen can be uncomfortable and painful.  See your physician who may give you a trial of antibiotics to see if this improves.  Biopsy can be indicated if not better.

Cheap errings: Yes, the swollen gland is most likely due to either increased inflammation, possible localized allergic reaction  or possibly localized infection of the piercing.
The body can react to any foreign body -earrings
Glands pop up when there is inflammation or infection close by.
You might want to remove those earrings , do warm compresses to area, might need antibiotics, topically or orally

i have itchy lumps on the right side of my head an inch above my ear. my gland on that side also seems swollen and a bit sore. should i be concerned?

Yes, get evaluated : The swollen gland is responding to the agent causing the itchy bumps, most likely an infection. This could be folliculitis or bacterial infection in the hair follicles or a fungal ringworm infection. Bug bites are rare in the scalp but could also explain the itchy bumps. A visual exam is extremely important.

my eye lid started itching on monday. today my eye lid is very swollen, and the gland next to my ear is very swollen and sore. what can this be?

Blepharitis??: In the absence of trauma, and in the absence of any redness upon the whites of the eyes, I’d think this to be blepharitis.  You need an evaluation, as treatment may be in order.

i have sore swollen gland underneath the ear, cheek swollen inside mouth and bad taste in the mouth. what  would cause this? dentist or dr. problem?

Parotitis: Parotitis is an inflammation of the parotid gland, which is a salivary gland on the side of the face just in front of and under the ear.  Given the associated bad taste, i suspect you may have a bacterial infection of that gland and a course of antibiotics is recommended.  You can see your primary care physician for this problem.

i have a swollen gland on my neck near my ear. about pea sized.  throat is a bit sore on that side. it's been a few days, should i be worried?

Swollen Gland: Our lymph nodes enlarge in response to disease.  They help capture and neutralize viruses and bacteria.  That is what is happening here in response to your sore throat.  This node should go down over the next couple of weeks.  If it continues to grow or does not go away then get it checked out

 Symptoms indicate a Strep Throat; a short dose of antibiotics (Z Pack) would be effective. And call your GP.
