Try : Try putting ice on the swollen areas and take anti-inflammatory medicine, like ibuprofen-if you can. This swelling is relatively normal, especially around the eyes. It should only last a few days a most. If it doesn't resolve in 72 hours after injections, get back to your injecting doctor.

A : A bad reaction to Radiesse is quite rare, but the results can be quite injector dependent.

Radiesse is not easily reversible (unlike Restylane (dermal fillers) or juvederm), but great results are certainly attainable with it. The amount of post-treatment swelling is variable among patients and depends which area(s) are treated.

does radiesse have fewer side effects than other injectables? a friend who's had different fillers over the last several years said she had less swelling and bruising with radiesse than any others. is that normally the case? or was she just lucky?

As : As far as bruising and swelling, it really depends on the patient and the injector, not the filler. I believe there is less chance of bruising with the more superficial injectables(juvederm and restylane). Everyone reacts differently to injections, whether it is pain, swelling or bruising. A well experienced & gentle injector will create less pain and swelling. As far as bleeding and bruising, it is, basically, luck. Every time i remove a needle from a patient and it doesn't bleed, I am pleasantly surprised. Sometimes it is a drop, sometimes, a good bit more.
As far as side effects, Radiesse (dermal fillers) is the safest, in my opinion. The big issue is with the injector. If your doctor is very experienced with the product, it is the best-again in my opinion. It is my favorite for naso-labial folds and marionette line treatments. I won't use it any where else and it should not be used in the lips.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) is safe: Radiesse is a dermal filler for wrinkles and contour filling. It has a very good safety record but should not be used in the lips. A possible disadvantage is that it cannot be removed with an enzyme injection like juvederm and Restylane (dermal fillers) but this is not often needed. It lasts a bit longer than the other fillers.

Always : Always consult with your doctor when it comes to this to check where he/she is comfortable placing it. 
The Radiesse (dermal fillers) people say: 1. Naso-labial folds, 2. Cheeks, 3. Corner of the mouth. 
I like it for naso-labial fold and marionette line corrections only.

can i get a facial (with extractions) after having radiesse? i get monthly facials that include extractions. now i'm considering radiesse on my cheeks. can i still get my facials, or would all the massaging cause problems?

I : I would suggest that you either skip a month of facials, or get the Radiesse (dermal fillers) done within a few days of your facial and tell the person giving you the facial to avoid the area at your next facial. 
The product is pliable at first, so we can shape it when it is first placed. You should be fine with getting a facial a few weeks after the injections. But, to be absolutely sure, contact Radiesse (dermal fillers) and ask them.
