One possibility: If the "water baloon" happens closer to the shoulder joint it may represent a acromioclavicular joint (ac) cyst,  a fluid-filled sac arising in the setting of a long-standing full-thickness rotator cuff tear. Subsequent mechanical wear of the articular capsule of the ac joint, allows passage of fluid from the glenohumeral joint into and often beyond the ac joint. Did you do an MRI of the shoulder?

AC Joint cyst: I have seen patients who present with swelling at the ac joint (where the collar bone meets the shoulder blade) that is intermittent with activity (such as walking).  This is typically a cyst that is related to arthritis in that joint.  You should be evaluated.  I have no way of explaining lightheaded feelings related to this problem so evaluation would be helpful to you.

Muliple possibilitie: There is a rather large differential diagnosis to the combination of symptoms and findings you have described. I would discuss these with the physician who ordered the CT scan.

Swelling : I am not sure but would get examined to be sure you are okay. It could be swollen lymph nodes which is concerning

Mass and Pain: This depends on your age, sex history and the nature of the pain and the mass. If this persists more than a few days, get an examination. Better than guessing about a mass with pain.

i had an orif of my clavicle one month ago. i am experiencing some swelling, numbness, redness, a little yellowing and pain at the surgical site. ?

See your doctor : Swelling and redness may be normal during healing, but may suggest infection too. Numbness can be chronic or temporary after any surgery. Yellowing is confusing- if it is a yellow fluid or discharge than you should see you doctor for sure.

i think my daughter might have broken her clavicle but there's no bruising or swelling but when i touch that area she says it hurts ?

May not see bruise: The clavicle is one of the more common bones to break in the body.In kids it can crack & be maintained in place by its surrounding fibrous sheath & the only initial sx may be point tenderness at the point of the crack. Within a day or two a bump may arise over the surface of the bone.If the kid doesn't want to use the arm/shoulder & complains  about that location it is worth a visit.

my dad, 48, diabetic, recent right clavicle injury has lead to swelling and increased pain after a recent fall. seen doctor, still in pain? what now?

Accepted Answer

Clavicle: If the clavicle injury  was a fracture then the symptoms are not unusual for a few weeks. The swelling and pain should improve otherwise check back with the doctor.
