can the acne on my back be caused by my night sweats?

No, but...: I am more concerned about why you are having night sweats in the first place; this is something you will want to talk about with your physician.  If the acne is in fact miliaria (a different skin disease that may feature little putules), this is caused by dampness, and acne can get slightly worse on such skin.  Today's rx's can handle almost all acne -- again, your physician can help.

Could be: Stress can do unbelievable things and create a problem out of nowhere. If you have been feeling like this for awhile then i would recommend going to see a doctor so that they can help you with your symptoms. In the meantime drink plenty of water and try and do activities that can relieve your stress.

year 2 on nexplanon and recently ive been having night sweats , cyst acne and my periods have been very light but painful and dark brown. any reason why im having issues now? should i get it removed? any advice?

: Nexplanon is effective birth control, however ovulation is frequently irregular, and sustained estrogen production will lead to thickened endometrial lining, with consequent withdrawal bleeding.  Suggest an appointment with a GYN physician for and exam and guidance.

i just started cabergoline for elevated prolactin, but im on
bc pills, so how will this effect my hormones? i suffer from
anxiety, night sweats, acne.

Accepted Answer

It won't: Cabergoline will decrease prolactin levels but will not affect you estrogen and Progesterone because of the birth control you take.  If you are having sx of night sweats, anxiety or acne there may be some other problem.  Often birthcontrol will help adult acne in  women depending on the formulation.

why am i still having night sweats, acne and insomnia?

Accepted Answer

BCPs: Most bcps help acne by increasing a protein that binds to testosterone and in effect hides it from the body.  You may need a less androgenic Progesterone bcp to better control this. The night sweats should not occur if caused by perimenopause because the estrogen in bcps replaces the deficiency associated with this. If night sweats only occur during your menses week, then only take active pills.

Many!: Some minor infections, like colds can do this for a few days. Other more serious infections  like tuberculosis can do this for many days. Some cancers can do this too. Less scary are hormonal problems, like menopause. Please see your doctor % find out. Also it would be a good idea to take your temp. twice a day, morning and night and keep a diary of it.  Do get checked if this happens &gt; 4 nights.

The presence or absence of b symptoms has prognostic significance and is reflected in the staging of these lymphomas. Similar systemic symptoms can be found in non-cancerous states such as tuberculosis and various inflamm or rheumatologic dz.

: If you have not lost weight and do not have fever, it is probably due to heavier than needed clothing/bedding. You may watch and wait. Reducing your ambient temperature may be helpful.

Get seen: Night-sweats are an ominous symptom and should prompt the search for a cause -- bacterial endocarditis, tuberculosis, malignant lymphoma are common ones, and brucellosis and a few dozen other infections are concerns as well. Especially if your bedclothes really get wet -- it's a warning of likely serious illness that's likely to be treatabale.

Enjoy your trip: If you are reasonably concerned with acne, based on your personal history (sweating's not really the cause but can make it flare), pack some benzoyl peroxide and use it prophylactically.
