Fibrosis: These strands of fibrous tissue represent scarring from a prior inflammatory process, probably old infection and could have been an old tuberculosis infection which you fought off. Depends: It usually bleeds somewhat. Some times it may collapse and need to be re-expanded. Other times the bullet cauterizes the lung tissue and it stays inflated. There is commonly some associated blast injury (bruising) that has to be recovered from.

Collapse: This a term means parts of the lung are under-inflated or collapsed. It is like a balloon with the air let out. It can involve small amounts of the lung or large portions of the lung. The more lung involved the bigger the problem. Causes range from the trivial ( mild atelectasis seen with bed rest) to the serious ( complete atelectasis of a whole lung from a tumor in the airway. ) lots in between.

Q: what is a hardening of the lung?

It depends: I would assume that you are referring to fibrosis (pulmonary fibrosis) of the lung resulting from an accumulation of fibrous connective tissue. This may be the result of schleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis or environmental exposures. You would need need to see a pulmonologist for evaluation and treatment.

Q: what will happen if you get stabbed in the lung?

Lung stabbing: It could cause a pneumothorax, a hemothorax, effect other internal organs or lead to death.

Nonspecific: That sounds very nonspecific.  Possibilities range from it being absolutely nothing to being something that needs more investigation.  I recommend discussing the results with your primary doctor or the interpreting radiologist.

Lung Densities: If the nodule(s) was (were) small ( like<5 mm) they are likely benign (like calcifications or scars). Pet scans are, at best, 70% concordant with lesions of this size. Moreover, pet scans can only "see" metabolically active lesions, and really  can't see tiny nodules very well at all. I can't read the report since you're not my "patient, " but it sounds like you have an " indeterminate" nodule.
