It can: Left side occures because when the leftside fails it causes a back up of fluids into the left atrium and then the lungs. The increased pressures in the lungs then causes the rt side to fail which causes fluids to engorge the liver and lower extremities. If its rt sided only then the lungs will be clear but the liver and legs can still be engorged

ANKLE PAIN: You want to go see a foot specialist such as a podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopedics because you might have a possible fracture,    severe ankle sprain, cellulitis or vascular condition. The only way to diagnose these condition is by a physical exam , blood work, cultures if open wound followed with diagnostic/radiographic testing.

Neither : The BUN and creatinine are normal and the ratio is not important in your labs. The numbers are as good as they get. A good physical exam and history is needed to determine the cause of your ankle edema. The numbers don't point to kidney disease and  work up heart disease need to see your MD.

You need compression stockings measured and prescribed by a doctor or until then, go to any drug store and get 20-30 mm hg support stockings asap.  You can raise your legs 4 times during the day for 20 minutes 6 inches higher than you heart to limit developing vessel pressures.  This c.
