Muscle spasm: Could be a spasm or trigger point in one of the accessory muscles of respiration; the scalenes can pinch off nerve roots in the brachial plexus and give you shoulder/arm symptoms. If persists, should be reviewed by chiropractor. Less likely but with your history, gallbladder also refers to right shoulder, consult with PCP or GI dr.

Depends: Sometimes a muscle spasm can cause this.  Stretching the area regularly before starting the day may help.  If it gets worse, go see your doctor.

Right shoulder pain: It sounds to me to be your diaphragm irritated which refers pain to your shoulder and when u take a deep breath. If u just recovered from an upper respiratory infection there is residual inflammation in your lungs that can cause this referred pain too.

i have upper right arm swelling, that 2 weeks ago was accompanied by acute pain under the bicep, that went away but the swelling still remains. an xrays showed some calcified tendinitis lies in the right shoulder region., but why is it still swollen?

: Without seeing it a definitive diagnosis is hard to make. Two possibilities are a large hematoma which could take several weeks to resolve or a proximal biceps tendon rupture in which the unattached muscle is just balled up in the arm. A visit to your doctor can confirm the diagnosis.

Complex Joint: The shoulder is a complex joint, & many conditions/ injuries  (rotator cuff injury, bursitits, tendonitis, labral pathology, etc) can cause pain. Some injuries of the soulder occur due to acute injury and some are from overuse. Shoulder pain can also come from your neck... I suggest you see an orthopedist for a complete exam.

Are you sure?: Seeing a doctor for an examination and possibly and x-ray is advisable. The pain could be from a muscular etiology as you have indicated. But it can be due to other reasons such as ligaments, tendons, referred from the neck, etc. There is no reason for you to continue in pain when effective treatment is available.  Good luck with your studies.

Several posibilities: This could actually be referred pain from the diaphragm or heart, but more likely musculoskeletal. You need to be examined by a pcp and perhaps have some imaging studies done. Better to go asap and get this worked out. Good luck.
