Lay on your side: If you lay on your side, the opposide side of the nose will oben.  So if you lay on the left the right side opens and vice versa.
This has to do with fluid shifts and normal lung reflex.

: I still think your body is fighting off a common cold viral infection that'll most likely last a week or so.  If you feel that your belching is gas buildup from indigestion, avoid gassy foods &amp; beverages.  Don't force yourself to belch as you'll only keep swallowing more air. Taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals prevents gas buildup.

: Post nasal drip can be caused by different conditions like sinusitis ,and hay fever ,and dry mouth can be associated with silent acid reflux . Washing  out the nasal passages with saline spray can help if used sparingly. However ,if the underlying problem is not corrected , you may continue to have symptoms , so it is advisable to get an ENT evaluation to diagnose the cause of the post nasal drip.

i took 2 nyquil right before bed and after laying in bed i feel like my stuffy nose is getting worse. i have some dayquil  sever cold and flu with nasal decongestant, can i take one or two of those now to help break up the mucus a little or is that too mu

And: Stop all this over the counter. Causes some side effects like increase in bp. Now try very hot fluids to open up the sinus rest give this a few days if you get worse see your doctor. Takes several weeks to resolve. Most often viral.

Sick: Take your baby to see the pediatrician as soon as possible -- i think the baby has cold, congestion and probably some conjunctivitis.

Tips: Tips: sore throat – gargle with warm salt water (1/2 tsp salt in 8 oz of water). Get strep test/culture if very sore. Congestion – saline nose drops or netti pot. For anti-inflammatory effect & mobilizing mucus- homemade chicken noodle soup.  Hydrate- lots of water/clear broth/ add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea..  Fever/ pain – Acetaminophen / nsaid’s  rest!
