Not usually: Most commonly, visual events as described may be noted with migraine, vitreous or retinal detachments, syncopal episodes, and low blood pressure, but maybe, one could consider a transient ischemic attack if other answers seem implausible.

Occipital stroke: The stroke affected your occipital lobe and your visual field. The adjacent area in the medial temporal lobe are often affected at the same time and therefore memory and subtle cognitive impairment may also occur.

Yes: Such an event is the result of a retinal artery occlusion and the result is loss of vision in the effected eye. As in a brain stroke, time is of the essence as far as initiation of treatment is concerned. Even with early treatment, only 20-30% of cases will retain useful vision in the eye.

i've lost vision in my right eye due to a stroke, are monoculars ideal for me?

Not sure what u mean: I am not sure what you mean when you say "monoculars". I assume you mean single glass lenses instead of bifocals. If that's what you mean, then there is no answer to your question. The answer is "whatever makes you more comfortable and happy". Some monocular patients love bifocals, and some don't. It's a personal preference only you can answer.
