Relative Rest: Stress fractures are overuse injuries.  Mainstay of treatment is rest.  Requires athlete's injury be placed in whatever is necessary to eliminate pain.  Casting/crutches for le injuries may be necessary.  In some activity modification without bracing or immobilization may suffice. Underlying hormonal, vitamin deficiencies corrected. Training errors identified. If untreated may progress to fracture.

See below: Navicular can be foot or wrist, either way, it needs to be seen by an orthopedist for hand or foot or podiatrist for foot.  Navicular fractures in the wrist can be problematic and result in a vascular necrosis of the bone.  Get seen.

Yes: If the fracture is in the healing process and has not healed through yet then patients may have pain. It should lessen over time as long as it is in the proper anatomical position for healing.  Make sure to continue following all the instructions your provider gave you for  the complete length of healing process and definitely follow up!

the pain will diminish and the patient
will gradually begin to walk better and 
with less pain.
If the fracture is fully healed, one
will be able to return to sports without

It can vary...: The fracture itself in not typically seen on an x-ray. What is seen is the bone's reaction to the stress. A cloudiness appears at the suspected site. This visualization on the x-ray may take a week or so to be seen. This is all the more reason to immobilize a suspected stress fracture.

Rest: Stress fractures occur when the stress of her activity level has gone beyond the ability of the bone to heal and repair itself.  Treatment is usually rest, and is in part based in the degree if activity that led to it.  For example, a runner may just have to stop for awhile; a sedentary person may need a cast and crutches.  Discuss your specific case with your doctor.

I guess pain: "hip/pelvis stress fracture" a curious medical diagnosis & one this doctor has never heard for symptoms in these structurally firm bone regions. Fractures (cracks) in these bones by & large occur from significant trauma & not from repetative biomechanical "stress"; unless person has severely advanced demineralization or wasting of bone mass & integrity from advanced age and/or a specific disease.
