Biotin : Biotin is a coenzyme for vitamin B group, we usually get enough vitamin B and Biotin from our diet and therefore it is unnecessary to take supplement. In some conditions like brittle nail or diabetes Biotin might be helpful.

i'm having fairly significant hair loss. my tsh levels are normal, stress is low, all blood tests are normal and am taking biotin and collagen to strengthen my hair. what else could i be missing?

: Hair loss as people get older especially in mid-life is not uncommon and not necessarily due to disease. When we make less new cells than the cell turn- over in the body, we call that - aging-  And all cells tend to be affected including the Skin and Hair Cells. The Dermatologist or the Skin &amp; Hair Beauticians can sometimes help. But not to worry, One is still very valued and Special.

i have severe acne for the past 4 month due to stress and hormone unbalance. i'm prescribed with vitamin h but it doesn't help. what else can i take?

Acne: Results in puberty/young age due to hormonal imbalance. Excess of testosterone in male and female patients.
Vit. H may be of benefit for some patients.

There is no best treatment. Ranges from antibiotics, over the counter med. (Avita, DApsona)

i am 24 year old guy suffering from hair loss. i've been on biotin and rogaine medication for about 2 years, haven't seen noticeable difference. help!

Often fails: Biotin isn't going to help. If you have alopecia areata, nothing will help. This is probably too long for telogen effluvium. Especially if you're naturally blessed with a lot of great body hair and a thick beard, rogaine may not slow male pattern baldness. Shave your head, grow some great facial hair, hit the gym, and embrace your full masculinity. Nothing looks better than a buffed, balding man.

vitamin question. can biotin interfere with seizure medication. i'm on keppra (levetiracetam) and want to take something for my hair loss.

Biotin &amp; Keppra (levetiracetam): Although there is no evidence that biotin interacts with any medication, there are some medications that may deplete biotin levels. These include those used to control seizures.  It is best to first talk to your health care provider before starting biotin or any other vitamin supplement.   This includes topical Rogaine for hair loss as there can be an interaction with Keppra (levetiracetam).

There are a number: of unanswered questions here but I will go ahead and make a couple of comments. I don't think the timing of when to take your supplements is an issue. It would be unusual to have an antibiotic and painkillers that are only dosed twice a day, and if they were, they should be close to 12 hours apart. Nocolut, a progesterone, would only be once a day. Prescribing doctor(s) can clarify. Good wishes:)

unknown: There are no studies looking at these combinations.  As is true for most supplements, there are no or few studies that support whatever claims are made about them, and no studies to see if they interact with other meds.

Hard to know: Because vitamins are sold otc and not assessed for efficacy by the fda it is not possible to tell differences from product to product. Whether or not this is accurate advice i don't know, but the more popular name brands are said to be more reliable.  Hope that helped.

No: Biotin even in very high doses should cause red spots. Any other changes - medicines, supplements? If it persists or gets worse see dermatologist.
