A short coruse of Hydrocortisone should not have any problems.Long term therapy should be tappered to prevent any adverse reactions.Check with your physician before doing anything.

No: Stopping the steroid does not cause flairs, but using it suppresses symptoms. Sun exposure will help and a good moisturizer with colloidal oatmeal can also improve things. You also should avoid antibacterial soap.

Eczema: Explore possible allergens. Use hydrating lotions such as nutraderm, eucerin or cetaphil twice daily. There are treatment methods that should be reviewed with a dermatologist. I agree, I would try to keep steroids off his face. All the best.

Pretty common.: Fatty (moisturizing) cream must be applied often, and also you may need to change the baby's feeding if he is on formula, to hypoallergenic formula, or if breast fed, adjust your own diet.

i used triamoncinolone 0.1% cream and cortizone (hydrocortisone) 10 otc on & off for 5 months as directed by doc. can i have adrenal gland problems now from stopping?

Unlikely: One would have to use a great deal of 0.1% triamcinolone daily for weeks to absorb enough to suppress the adrenal gland.

i have lip eczema. used hydrocortisone no use. doc prescribed mometasone. eczema is gone but my lips are starting to flare up after a week of stopping.mometasone being a strong steroid, in a dilemma whether to use it or not. what to do now?

: You could have a condition known as perioral or periorificial dermatitis often associated with use of steroid cream.  You may need to see dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Class i is superpotent, and class vii is very weak. Usually, any categories of steroids can induce rosacea with prolonged use.

Hydrocortisone: It can take several weeks to months to get pass the side effects - you need to be tapered off the medication slowly over several days to weeks.
