Direct pressure: All external bleeding is best controlled with direct pressure (regardless of the presence of coumadin). With the exception of bleeding related to an injury of a large artery, almost all other bleeding will stop with the simple application of firm, direct pressure held to the site of bleeding for 5-10 minutes.

Quik Clot or Vit. K.: A small cut can be treated with direct pressure or quik clot. A large cut may require reversal of the Coumadin (warfarin) with fresh frozen plasma or vitamin k.

Yes: Get your inr checked as soon as possible and don't take any more Coumadin (warfarin) until instructed to by your supervising doctor.

No: If any thing, warfarin would make you bleed more. You need to talk to your doctor who knows your health and medications better.

Possible: Much gum bleeding is poor periodontal attention, flossing, brushing, dental hygiene etc may solve this.
If coumadin/warfarin is raising inr out of bound desired, some spontaneous or traumatic bleeding can occur.
Check inr and talk to controlling md or clinic.

It depends on : Your stoke risk....Bleeding risk are fairly equivalent ...But given history of TIA this gives you a chads2 score at least 2 so anticoagulantsation would be the recommendation.

Yes but......: The idea is to reduce your risk of stroke.  You should take some time to discuss stroke prevention with your neurologist the next visit. Set aside at least 20 minutes to get a better idea of the risks and benefits of taking Coumadin (warfarin) with your bleeding /clotting diathesis.  Make sure when you confirm your appointment with the stroke specialist you let his staff know you will have lots of questions

Gi bleed: If you have chronic hcv infection, liver cirrhosis, and coumadin, (warfarin) you are at risk for GI bleed.   Patients with liver cirrhosis likely have portal hypertension and low effective circulating platelets, which increased risks of bleeding.   Coumadin (warfarin) will increase this risk.  If you are bleeding suggest stop coumadin, (warfarin) go to the hospital for further evaluation and care.

Yes! See Physician: If your warfarin level becomes too high your gums can bleed, in this case you would be at high risk of  hemorrhage, seek medical help inmediately.  If your gums are healthy due to  regular visits to dentist and good oral home care, then no gum bleeding.
