hi,
i am currently taking lansoprazole 30mg once a day for my stomach pain & sour taste in mouth. it doesn't work, then i started  2 times a day since last friday. i wonder if i am taking 2 times a day  save?

Compliance with ther: PPI therapy fails either partially or completely in up to 30% of patients.
PPI should be taken before breakfast,small meals, avoid late meals,elevate head end of bed.Avoid fatty/Fried foods.
Adherence to timing,consistency, and atleast trial for1-2 wks of one a day,  before you jump to twice a day.
If all above fails ,time to See Gastroenterologist for further work up, possible EGD

The antrum is the : Outlet of the stomach. An erosion is an area of injury (that can sometimes progress to an ulcer). If you have not been evaluated by a gastroenterologist recommend doing that. The GI specialist can recommend treatment plan to reduce pain. There are a variety of different treatments depending on the cause.

It's possible: There are enteroviruses (stomach viruses) that cause hand-foot-mouth disease. Coxsackie virus is a common cause of hfm and can infect both children and adults. Patients get mouth sores, from a few to many sores, and have pain with eating and drinking. The number of rash bumps on the palms, soles, hands, feet, arms, legs, and butt areas vary among patients and among different coxsackie strains.

Nonspecific: These symptoms are nondiagnostic but could be due to gastritis(inflammation of the stomach lining). Try a bland,low fat diet and drink flat ginger ale. Avoid caffeine,alcohol,nicotine and try prilosec for a few days. See your MD if symptoms persist or worsen or if vomiting, or significant bowel changes or abdominal tenderness occur.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!
