Abdominal pain: Try both sides and lie on whichever feels better.  If it keeps up go and see your family doctor and find out why you are hurting.

RLQ abdominal pain: Pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen can be from many sources, including the gallbladder, liver, kidney, ovaries, colon, small intestine, and pancreas, among others. If the pain is severe, you should go to the emergency room. Otherwise, see your doctor soon. Hope that helps.

Consider this...: Abdominal pain is never normal, but you have not indicated the intensity, duration, quality, or circumstances of your symptoms.  Lots of things cause lef-sided abdominal pain--see my earlier HealthTap answers on the subject please regarding the anatomy and possibilities involved.  If pain is severe or worsening, don't delay in seeking evaluation &amp; getting treated.

Cookie: Even if this is a mild food poisoning, symptoms should resolve reasonably soon. It may also be simply indigestion or a coincidence. Drink flat room temperature ginger ale or flat Coca-Cola. Eat light foods like broth,saltines. If it's an early intestinal viral infection, diarrhea may follow.  If abdominal pain worsens and/or vomiting develop, call your MD for instructions.

From the intestine?:  Since  you are feeling different places in the abdomen maybe coming for intestine. It could be something like gas but also could be some type of irritation of the intestine. We need to discuss with your physician and consider seeing a gastroenterologist

i was told to take strattera (atomoxetine) in the morning & ritalin if i need it. side effects should i expect? told i would only have worry about stomach aches.

Oversimplification: There are a few more side effects to keep in mind.  With methylphenidate, you should keep an eye on your sleeping and your appetite in particular, as these both can decrease. In addition, strattera (atomoxetine) can have a variety of side effects including suicidal thoughts and urinary problems, among others. However, despite these possibilities it may also be an effective combination so talk to your doctor.

Left sided abd. pain: Causes of recurrent abdominal discomfort as described may be identified by first addressing signs/symptoms so as to localize the organ involved: vaginal discharge or bleeding, alteration in periods, pregnancy risk? Fever, nausea, vomiting, altered stool pattern, blood with stool, tenderness, distension? Painful urination, blood in urine? Recent trauma, herniations? Age? Gender? Other risk factors?
