Bladder Infection: Did you have urine culture done and do you know what is the organism and what antibiotics did you take and for how long.If you have symptoms and the cultures are negative than it could be non infectious condition like interstitial cystitis.You should consult a urologist.

Hello. : Hello. Don't know if you are a man or a woman.  I wouldn't jump the gun by focusing in on bladder cancer as a cause.  The urologist will do a systematic evaluation, so that hopefully the cause can be determined and treated and so that more serious causes can be ruled out.  It isn't worth working oneself up at this point, because the reason for your symptoms hasn't been determined. Take care.

Then call the doc: Your doc should have sent the urine for c&s to the lab to make sure the bacteria was not resisitant to the antibiotic the doc gave u, and to make sure u do not have something else going on.

i was diagnosed with a bladder infection last week.was put on cefdinir 300mg for 7 days.i have 3 days left of the antibiotic.i am still having piercing pain like a twisting of my ovary and the pain starts at my left hip ,goes down into my bladder.sos?

More than uti: This sounds like more than just an uncomplicated bladder infection.  You may have something going on in your ovary. My advice is to see your PMD or gynecologist, or at least maybe an urgent care, and inquire about a pelvic ultrasound to look at those structures

It can be: UTIs can be treated with a number of antibiotics, depending on the organism causing the infection and the resistance that organism has to antibiotics.  Biaxin (clarithromycin) is one option that can treat some UTIs, but it is not the first line treatment.

The following: By urinating after sex to empty bladder, shower not bathe + never use bubble bath.Avoid costipation.Good toilet hygiene: wipe front to back, pull panties, tights + pants down to ankles & spread thighs widely when urinating. (avoids urine trapping in vagina).Don't wear thongs or hold off urination.Healthy diet + drink lots.?Cranberry juice, tabs or gelcaps reduce bacterial adherence to bladder wall.

Omnicef (cefdinir): This is an orally taken third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic which should probably be reserved for specific situations in which less broad spectrum drugs might not suffice.  There are many drugs available that are less expensive, less likely to alter your normal flora, and just as likely to cure your bladder infection.

Depends.: Depends upon who you ask. Various specialty groups make different recommendations, local resistance patterns and patient characteristics may modify the choice. Top three are probably nitrofurantoin, Ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin,  and septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim).  All are potentially good choices.  But there are many other good choices.  If culture is done antibiotics may be tailored.
